Essential Oils in Moisturizing

Lately I've been seeing Shea Butter and Beeswax bars in health food stores and high-end boutiques.  These things are wonderful and also quite easy to make.  The importance of choosing quality essential oils is key - these are put directly onto your skin and absorbed in seconds - they can be so wonderfully healthful and should be selected from a quality supplier.  Some of my favorites include lavender, bergamot, ylang ylang, orange, balsam fir, and blends like Believe, Abundance, and Joy from Young Living.

Here's a recipe for my favorite homemade heavenly moisturizing bars. Once I make a batch of these, I add a few drops of essential oil before using and rub on my feet, hands, body. If you're not up for the homemade variety, just add a few drops of your favorite essential oils to any basic shea-based moisturizing bar and enjoy!

Weigh or estimate equal parts Coconut oil, Beeswax, and Shea Butter.

Melt in double-boiler. The beeswax will be the last to melt, give it time, low and slow is fine.

Remove from heat, add a few favorite essential oils to make a custom blend, stir briefly.

Ladle the melted concoction into silicone baking cups or similar, so long as it's flexible to make removing the cooled bars simple.

They'll be cool in about an hour and ready to pop out and wrap. These are really so divine!!

Each time I use this, I add a few drops of an essential oil onto it - a great way to get the oils I crave each day. So healthful and pampering, I hope you enjoy as much as I do!
